Prior to creating Lost, John was founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tracsis Plc, a technology and services business that works extensively with UK rail and bus companies and specialises in data analytics, transport consultancy and optimisation software. 

Tracsis was formed in 2004 and joined the London Stock Exchange via IPO in 2007. During John’s tenure the business grew revenues in excess of £60M, employed over 700 staff and had a market capitalisation of over £200M. Tracsis continues to thrive today and is a key provider of technology and consultancy to the UK transport industry.

John has a background in venture capital and management consultancy. He started his career with Arthur Andersen & Co and prior to Tracsis worked for the investment firm IP Group Plc. He holds a first class degree in Management Science from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.

A passionate supporter and thought leader within UK transport, Alex has over 30 years’ experience in the industry having held board positions with major train, bus, and coach companies. He has also held senior roles within British Airways and the Royal Mail.

Alex founded his own transport consultancy in 2012, which he sold to technology specialist Tracsis Plc in 2021 and joined their senior leadership team heading up their consultancy offering.

More recently, Alex set up AJW Experience Group, which develops customer service programmes and Great Scenic Journeys, a ‘one-stop-shop’ service that promotes and provides customer accreditation for more than 160 bus and coach routes across the UK and Ireland.

Alex is the Chair of the Surrey Football Association, and Chair of Network Rail’s supervisory board for the West Midlands Grand Railway Collaboration.

Max joined Lost as Finance Director in October 2023 having previously worked with John and Alex at Tracsis.

Max is a Chartered Accountant and qualified with EY over 20 years ago.

Since leaving EY, he worked at various roles in industry including 10 years as CFO of Tracsis plc where working closely alongside John, he built the business organically and by acquisition and to a market cap of over £200m.

Prior to Tracsis, Max spent seven years at Persimmon plc in various roles and since leaving Tracsis in 2021 he has experienced other sectors such as online auctions and was also involved as a Non Exec Director for a business seeking to float on AIM though that was ultimately aborted.

Max currently works with Lost on a part time basis and also works with several other small but growing businesses on a portfolio basis.

Max has also invested in Lost and is a minority shareholder alongside John and Alex.

Gemma joined Lost Group in October 2023 from The Ambitious Group where she headed up the marketing team and led on candidate recruitment and client customer service.

Gemma has 9+ years of experience in recruitment and marketing, working across sectors including property, conveyancing, technology, and data.

Gemma is responsible for Lost system development, candidate selection and vetting, and client relations.

Louise joined Lost Group in July 2023, having previously spent many years as a Commercial Manager for aviation group CHC, which is the largest provider of offshore helicopters in the world for oil and gas markets.

Previously, Louise was Head of Marketing at CallCredit, part of the Skipton Building Society (now TransUnion) which specialised in data analytics for the consumer finance industry. She started her career as a founder of the Graduate Network, a specialist marketing agency that promoted leading blue-chip companies to UK undergraduates. In this capacity, Louise worked extensively with Stagecoach, First Group, Virgin and National Express.

At Lost Group Louise works with clients and candidates during an engagement and is also responsible for business development and aftersales.
